Product Design for Kindergarten and Schools
The project was conducted in the summer of 2021 as a Bridge to Working Life student team project, coordinated and guided by the Design Foundation Finland. The aim of the project was to design a furniture series for kindergartens and schools for the company SISUWOOD, a company located in Juva. SISUWOOD manufactures a wide range of furniture to meet the needs of various industries across Finland. The project brief was to design a modular furniture series for kindergartens and schools that could be used for space planning in kindergartens and primary school classrooms.
Solution
Together with the team, we ideated the products throughout the iterative design process. My contribution to this project was to 3D model Vilke, Sermikki, and Monipala, as well as create the technical drawings for Tuolikki, Vilke, Sermikki, and Monipala.
Responsibilities
The project was directed and coordinated by Heli Pöyry, CEO of the Design Foundation Finland. The project team consisted of design students Linnea Seeskari, Ida Gröndahl, and Sebastian Högnabba. My contribution for the project was to 3D model and create renderings from Vilke, Sermikki, and Monipala, and create the technical drawings from all the products. Other design process stages were conducted in collaboration with the team.
